- Brutish Betrayer was added in was added in Update 68 - Glory, Battle Pass and Demons (14 Jun, 2018) as a Season Card as part of the Season of the Demon
- In Update 73 - Demons and Dragons (8 Aug, 2018), Brutish Betrayer was changed to also be summoned with Rage
- In Update 1.20 - Uprising (7 January, 2021), Brutish Betrayer was reworked:
- Turncoat (switches sides the first time it drops below 50% health) was removed.
- Gained Blood Pact: Your master loses health equal to half of the damage they take, even overkill damage.
- In a hotfix launched on 8 January, 2021, Brutish Betrayer lost Rage
- In Update 1.23 - Outlandish Operations (21 April, 2021) Blood Pact damage was increased from 50% to 66%.
- In a hotfix launched on 8 July, 2021, Blood Pact damage was increased from 66% to 75%.
- In Update 1.28 - Malediction (20 September, 2021), Brutish Betrayer was changed so that only 1 copy of it can be used in a Team Battles deck.
- In Update 1.38 - Wanderlust (August 4, 2022), the self-damage of Blood Pact was increased from 75% to 85%.
- In Update 1.45 - Arcane Anomalies (March 9, 2023), Brutish Betrayer's damage was reduced from 180 to 160.
- In Update 1.51.1 - Mid Season Balance Patch (November 9, 2023), the damage received from Blood Pact was reduced from 85% to 75%.
